"Adventure isn’t hanging on a rope off the side of a mountain. Adventure is an attitude that we must apply to the day to day obstacles of life -- facing new challenges, seizing new opportunities, testing our resources against the unknown and in the process, discovering our own unique potential" -John Amatt Date: July 21-22, 2010 Wednsday and Thursday. Who Came: Collin, Michael, and I Route: Coleman Deming After just doing a 30 mile backpacking trip, Collin invited me...

"In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." -John Muir "Me and Pavel like to Travel Glacier Peak is not for the weak, but a trip of hard endurance As we slog through the snow, we say again "here we go" As I sweat and soak my garmets, I see I am in a land of Marmots The mice at camp come to steal in attempts to get a nice meal That night we slept quite well, and by morning I felt quite right Over the snowy pass we go, not a single blade of grass By...

“Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checked by failure...than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.” -Theodore Roosevelt "... the most luxuriant and the most extravagantly beautiful of all the alpine gardens I ever beheld in all my mountain-top wonderings." -John Muir "I consider mountains like this a success when you...

"There are old Mountaineers, there are bold mountaineers, but no bold and old mountaineers." -Ed Viesturs "A sense of uncertainty that is potentially fatal is what makes climbing an adventure. Anything less is just working out" - Jim Bridwell "I refuse to believe in a risk free society where the thrill of living is traded for the safety of existence." -Nick Ienatsch This was my most intense adventure yet. When heading out to the mountains, most of the time I put a...

"Wright Mountain was not the right mountain and luckily we found that out before something serious happened." -Eastking This trip was the same one as Not the Wright Mountain but I felt as though there were details of the trip that were left out. This trip took place December 26, 2009. The people who came were Gimpilator, fzte (Skyler), Gabe, Eastking, and I. Even on the way to Snooquamie Pass the sunrise was quite beautiful and we arrived just in time while the clouds were...

This hike took place on December 5, 2009 on Hidden Lake Peaks. This truly was a beautiful hike and one could say it was like being in awesome wonders. It started when BadDog invited me, and as always I had to accept the offer. Another guy named Don came which I hear has some climbing experience, the weather was finally good so it looked like I was in for a good hike. Fortunately it was better than I expected...   ...

Trip Time: A little over a Day (August 28-29) Elevation Gain: 4,500 Feet   After Summiting Mount Baker I had hope for climbing Mount Rainier, right after Baker I went to Lakeside Bible Camp which I served there and during that time I studied the book "Freedom of the Hills 7th Edition" which is a Mountaineers book. Also I would wake up very early to go on runs to get in shape for climb Rainier. When I got home I went for a 5 mile run to test my strength, and then went for a 50 mile bike...

Note: This took place during the year of 2005 when I was 12 years old when I started taking up hiking. Both attempt and summit trips were in February. My first Mountain attempt:    It started when my mom wanted to get out of the house, and for some reason decided on Mount Pilchuck. A Month before we went to Wallace Falls and Wallace lakes which was a nice hike, but we took it up a notch and wanted something a bit well... bigger. We pack up our gear and get ready to head out. On this trip...

This was one of the most intense hikes I have ever been on, on a normal day it's just a simple walk across the Muir snowfield to the Camp, but in a white out, it's not so simple. On Mount Rainier it is said that the weather can change on a dime, meaning much faster than one would expect. The idea came about April 23 on Thursday when I really wanted to get out. Someone in OSAT told me that there was a camp muir trip for all OSAT'ers which had me excited, but I called him and my hopes were...

Today's trip was Blow Down Mountain and Crater Lake Peak, and once again EastKing and Craig came along as well as two other people who which I forget there names. I was very much exited because I thought I was out of luck for the week, I was in a way a little under the weather because it has been so darn sunny and I have'nt been getting out and we been having conflicts at my house. This time it was redemtion as EastKing and I call it because of what happended on Jolly, I did'nt know my limits...

After going on a hike the day before I was extremely tired, but extremely ambishous to go for more. At first when I got home my mother said she was taking the car, and this would possibly ruin my dream of going on TWO HIKES! I was so desperate to go that I had a bike route set up for if I had to ride my bike 25 miles to meet up with the group, but then I thought this is crazieness, because not only was I very tired but I was caughing from being sick. I did not want me skipping my friends...

This hike took place February 21, 2009 on Saturday, the day before Jolly Mountain. What a wild Hike it was this weekend, I really felt like I was living a mountain dream. It was brilliant fun, just absolute fun!  What hieghts of joy, what hieghts of endurance, and what a beautiful world! Also betrayal was another part of it. I betrayed me friend Mark for not going to his birthday party... I sorta made it sound like I was going, and I did'nt go, my irresponsibility takes me to places that...

The OSAT decided on having Mailbox peak for a conditioner hike, and the name really says it, for me it was difficult, although the EastKing bragged at the end saying he wanted to summit another mountain. Anyways, we meet up and gather in a cirle and say the OSAT outh which ends with "Keep Climbing Mountains and Don't Slip.    The trail started out hard for me not because it was a difficult trail, but because the group had a very fast pace, it took a lot of training to get in shape for this...
